Chief Tréchelle Bunn is the first-ever female and youngest elected Chief of Chan Kagha Otina Dakhóta Oyáte (Birdtail Sioux Dakota Nation). She is also the founder and race director of the Reconciliation Run.

Donald and Mildred were Survivors of the Birtle Residential School and are the great-grandparents of founder Chief Tréchelle Bunn. The Reconciliation Run was established in their honour.

Elder Terry is a Birtle Residential School Survivor. Each year, prior to the Reconciliation Run, he courageously shares his story and his vision for the future.
